The PC version of Vietcong 1 is exceedingly challenging; you succumb quickly. I completed Vietcong 2 on PC, and while it presented difficulties, it wasn't as demanding as the initial Vietcong installment.

Did Rockstar Games develop Vice City using the same team that created Mafia?

Mafia was intensely challenging, especially considering its difficulty level – a particular race sequence remains notorious, and the entire game demanded careful play. Yet, I discovered that Vice City felt relatively simple after completing Crysis at its most demanding setting. A methodical, stealthy approach, similar to a real-world scenario of cautious observation and awareness of one’s surroundings – constantly scanning corners, remaining vigilant – proved effective. I believe Vice City would likely present a similar experience.
