I recently assembled my PC and it functioned properly for a short time before suddenly stopping. After turning it off and on again, the VGA indicator lit but no screen appeared, sometimes the boot light also stayed active. I inspected all connections, reinserted the GPU, swapped it with another unit (both fans and RGB lights worked), tested it in another machine which operated normally, changed HDMI cables, modified PCIe connections, and even replaced the motherboard without success. The built-in graphics remain operational. When I connected my HDMI cable to the motherboard, it worked correctly, suggesting the issue lies elsewhere. My assumption is a cable or power supply problem, but I’m still unsure what’s causing it.
Consider setting a specific PCIe version for your card and system. Provide details about your CPU, motherboard, and GPU so I can offer tailored advice. The UEFI could have an issue during negotiation that keeps the LED lit; forcing the version in the PCIe16_1 slot might resolve it.
Yes, I just tried it a the other one but it has the same problem. Also there is barely any room for the GPU to breathe when it’s in this slot
I’d try using PCIE16_1 or whatever name it has to GEN4 instead of letting it auto-select. Then I’d check if that resolves the issue. If not, it probably points to a UEFI bug that could be fixed later with an update.
I changed the settings and it still didn’t work. I’m updating my bio now… I hope that resolves the issue.
It hasn’t worked yet. Have you tried another method? Could be a PSU problem—just want the PC to function properly.
