Usually I tweak shadows and lighting to boost frame rate, but I stay within <45 FPS. At 1080p I rarely lower settings. Plus, I don’t always run a FPS counter, so a drop from 60 to 45 fps won’t catch my attention because I’m too focused on the game.

Consider moving on if she focuses solely on what you offer, and don’t treat her like a game reference.

AA reduces performance, often boosting frame rates by over ten times.

never felt the urge to decline anything except AA at the time I played 280x. the only exceptions were shadows in far cry 3, which affected performance by nearly 10 fps due to optimization problems.

I also use a 2XAA at 1440p with 4x or more, which really drops the frame rate for me.

I immediately disable motion blur yet I begin with textures and set the maximum buffer rate.

AA, Shadows and Ambient Occlusion offers top resolution; it’s hard to lower it without compromising quality, especially with a 980
