I recently purchased a GTX 980 and feel a bit proud adjusting video settings in games. I tend to prefer 1080p at 60fps, but I know it's not always achievable with maximum performance. I'm curious—what adjustments would you make first in games like Far Cry 4 or Crysis 3 if you notice the frame rate dropping? Let me know!

Start with the base, then add ambient occlusion. Details come later; textures and quality follow.

I play Far Cry 4 smoothly at 60fps or higher with my 980, but I haven’t tried Crysis 3 yet. That might not fully address your question, though. Honestly, this is my first PC and first GPU, and all the games I’ve played so far run at top speed.

I dislike the way ambient occlusion and depth of field appear, particularly in FPS games.

I usually skip AA unless necessary because it significantly improves visuals, but it provides the greatest performance boost.

I appreciate the use of DOF in films, yet it can be quite distracting and annoying in games.

AA is the initial direction I take when bending backward.

Individuality varies greatly. Achieving this requires significant effort.

Things that appeal require significant effort... For instance, my girlfriend is really attractive and she uses more resources to maintain than playing Crysis, haha!
