You already possess certain components. Additional additions include a 10100 unit, an updated platform, and a significantly quicker performance.

It doesn't seem fair to compare these chips if they're priced near their original costs (around 100-120 euros). The choice really hinges on your specific situation, like whether you already have the right board or what your needs are.

even though an inexpensive B150 or B250 model is priced close to 90% of the cost compared to a B450 board running an AMD processor.

I'm using an MSI B250 board with a 1050 Ti Pentium G4560 and only want to upgrade the CPU since I can't afford a whole new PC.

Which nation do you call home? In a nation where second-hand goods are plentiful, that might seem expensive, but if it’s typical for your area, it could be reasonable.

The i5-6500 at 80€ feels expensive since a new i3-10100F is also available for 80€ (in stock) and offers significantly better performance. I checked eBay and found the 6500, along with the 7400, 7500, and 6600, all priced between 80-90€. That’s quite a lot for those components. The i3-10100F needs a different motherboard, but if you also sell your current B250 Boost (which still sells well on eBay), upgrading to a 1200 socket board for the i3-10100F won’t cost much more now.

I decline this offer. A quad-core processor at 3.6GHz is relatively slow. The price of 10,400 for 140-150€ or 10,100 for 80-100€ would be significantly improved, especially if you also need a new motherboard.

I'm from Slovenia, and the local used market is quite limited—there are around five listings for a 6500. On eBay, shipping fees are about $20 plus.

In reality, it varies greatly depending on your location across Europe.
