Hello!
I’m wondering why my front USB ports sometimes fail to detect devices that need more power, like an external HDD. All drivers seem current, the rear ports work fine, and on my laptop the HDD is recognized. In Power Management I unchecked "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power." The BIOS and AMD chipset drivers are up to date. What else can be done?
Thanks!

The front panel headers are probably designed to support up to 4.5W USB, with anything more being just additional features. If the device runs solely on USB, you should use a pig tail cable to connect two ports.
