Hello. I recently purchased a USB microphone (Dynex DX-USBMIC13) but it doesn’t capture any sound when used. It only emits faint static. I’ve attempted to set it as the default device in Windows, updated the driver, uninstalled Realtek audio drivers, and tested it on several computers without success. The issue persists. Could you help determine if the microphone is working properly or if there’s a software problem?

with steam client and open mic test, you should notice a bar moving when speaking. If no sound appears, return to the sound settings and check the mic tab for a test option.

have you experimented with increasing the microphone input volume using the thumb-wheel on the base?

2 things to try.
1. Check if you use the steam client in games; if so, look for a game that allows microphone use. When opened, you should see a test microphone.
2. Enter sound into your search box and verify if Windows has the microphone setting enabled. The settings can sometimes change unexpectedly during updates.

I attempted to adjust the volume fully up and down on the base. I also tried activating the switch on the base to turn the microphone on.

Check the microphone settings in Windows 10 to see if it's enabled.
