The USB add-in card isn't functioning properly in the motherboard port.
Hello, I recently upgraded to an Asus Tuf z790 gaming plus d4 +13700k + 4070ti. However, with a large number of USB ports on my old motherboard, the internal USB controller wasn't sufficient. I used an older model, the ASUS Rog Strix Z590 gaming Wi-Fi A, which has three USB ports and two USB-C add-on cards. But when I connected it to the new motherboard, it didn’t work. It shows a 2x card in the slot and lights up, yet plugging anything in doesn’t trigger the system. The power is received, but the issue seems to be with the card itself rather than the board. I have four days left for an Amazon return in case I need to replace the board. Would you like me to share the Amazon link for the card?
I’m looking to see if there are any available drivers to install. That’s the initial step I’d take.
the usb controller needs support for 2 pci-e lanes or even just 1 pci-e lane... it's probably not feasible to reach 20 gbps with a single pci-e lane, but it should still function. This specific card might perform unusual actions like using bifurcation to divide the minimum four pci-e lanes into two sets of two and assigning two lanes to each controller on the card. However, the amazon images don't clearly show this happening, though they aren't very detailed. Ensure you have the correct drivers installed. The product description mentions it uses fresco logic dual 1100 controllers, which were released in 2019: https://www.drvhub.net/devices/network/f...ler-fl1100
The latest motherboard update suggests upgrading the Intel ME firmware and chipset. Several chipset revisions are required, including a dedicated update for serial I/O functionality.
Apologies for the delayed reply. All updates completed, but no adjustments made yet.
