I own a 1500VA offline ups unit that has been in use for several years. I've replaced the batteries before and everything worked fine. My PC has remained stable for nearly three years, but the problem started only recently. The situation is: when I power on my PC—whether for gaming or not—I see electricity flowing, the ups powers itself, and then the PC shuts down. After turning it off again, the ups restarts and the cycle repeats. After installing new batteries, the issue persists. If I disconnect the UPS during operation, it functions normally and shuts off once the batteries are depleted. Could this be a minor fixable issue or has the overload become permanent, requiring a replacement?

Are there any power strips or surge protectors along the electrical connection?

The UPS shutting down could indicate a safety mechanism in place. Many manufacturers advise against using power strips and surge protectors with a UPS. I recommend conducting some tests to identify potential causes. Begin by disconnecting the power strip. Numerous power strips are poorly constructed, posing safety risks. Draw a diagram of all connected components, including cables and wires. Check for any loops—such as a chain connecting Device A to B, B to C, C to D, and then back to A. Look beyond just electrical connections; consider audio, video, and network links too. Remove devices one by one, observing if the UPS stops shutting down after each addition. If it does, the recently added device might be the issue. Proceed carefully, change only one element at a time.

The UPS includes a safety mechanism that shuts it down when voltage or frequency drops, though this is occurring at 230V and 50HZ, which matches the standard in my country. I've been using this Huntkey power strip for three years for both the UPS and other devices, so I'm not certain it's the reason, but I'll keep checking. No loops at all. I'll follow your instructions with the tests. Appreciate your assistance.
