The upgraded PC malfunctions following any BIOS adjustment.
I recently upgraded my system to a Ryzen 5 3600, MSI MPG X570 Gaming Pro Carbon Wifi and MSI 2080 super gaming X trio (all used components except the GPU). Today I rebuilt the PC and reinstalled Windows. Initially everything appeared normal, but after adjusting the fan curve and RAM speed—raising the CPU from 2133 to 3000 and the RAM from default to its rated speed—the machine experienced a bootloop. It kept restarting with no display on the screen and all fans running at full speed. The "EZ Debug LEDs" indicated CPU and DRAM issues. I cleared CMOS and after several restarts it finally booted again. I suspected a BIOS conflict because similar problems occurred after reinstalling Windows. I attempted various settings tweaks, but the issue persisted consistently. Eventually, clearing CMOS repeatedly became necessary. Now the PC runs smoothly, even after stress tests. I have 32GB of RAM (8x4 configuration) and tried different configurations without success. My PSU is 750W, and I’m unsure how to manage fan speeds or adjust RAM settings further. I’m worried about accessing BIOS and need advice on resolving this.
The reported number refers to XMP/DOCP speed. Setting it to default should let you adjust other parameters like fan curves easily.
The title seems accurate. No major changes were made. It appears the issue might be with a specific update or version, not just XMP settings. Double-check if you fully removed Dragon Center via MSDIPS. Also, verify if other components like nzxt or Ryzen Master are causing problems.
I started with xmp but switched the fan curve instead. The SSD formatting and Windows reinstall didn’t fix the issue. It keeps happening even after a fresh setup.
It may display a bios screen or black screen, or it could loop continuously. Let me know if you need further details.
Black screen. After resetting the CMOS, I adjust a setting and attempt to boot. Then it loops with the CPU light on for a short time, and continues running at full fan speed with the CPU and DRAM indicators on. When I power it off and turn it back on, it immediately switches to all external displays with both lights active.
Determine how long to keep the CPU and memory lights on, then verify the motherboard guide for meaning of those patterns regarding issues.
