I upgraded my CPU from a Ryzen 7 3700X to a Ryzen 9 5950X and updated the BIOS, ensuring everything was set to default. However, when installing the new processor, the LED indicates a RAM problem, preventing the PC from booting and leaving it stuck on the RAM. The issue is that with my previous CPU, the system worked perfectly. I’ve done everything: reset CMOS, used one stick of RAM, checked the BIOS for compatibility, and left it on for a while in hope it would fix itself. I’m unsure what to do—could the CPU be faulty? The new CPU is brand new.

PC Specifications:
- Brand: Asus
- Model: Rog Strix B550-f gaming Wi-Fi
- Processor: Corsair Vengeance 4x8, 3200MHz
- Graphics: NVIDIA EVGA FTW 3080 Ti
- Motherboard: Corsair 850M 2 M.2 SSD
- Storage: SAMSUNG 990 Pro 1TB

From the six 4-core CPUs I owned, only one failed completely and another was damaged within twenty days. The latter would also remain unresponsive during RAM setup. I’d just return it.

I reached out to support yet it took a long time.

Ensure the EPS cable (located at the CPU power area, top left corner of Mobo) is securely connected. Verify that the RAM is properly installed. If everything looks good and your previous CPU functions correctly, it may indicate a faulty device—consider returning or exchanging it.
