I possess what appears to be quite old RAM—2x G.Skill F4 -2400C17-8 GIS DDR4. Upgrading would improve performance. If I switched to Corsair 16GB RAM, the capacity would remain the same. Some people said my current setup is outdated and an upgrade would help.

Your RAM is lagging, but a 3600MHz CL16 setup can greatly improve speed.

Review the IC in the thaiphoon burner, most older DDR4 models should handle at least 3000MHz CL16 without needing an upgrade unless you have a faulty IC that can't reach that frequency. If your IC falls short, simply switch to standard 3200CL16 or 3600CL18 chips—anything else is too expensive and ineffective. Don't worry about 3600CL16; ballistic 3000/3200 will easily reach 4000CL16 (~1.5v) and can easily replace any 3600CL16 module, unless you opt for a 16-16-16 package which is outdated and underperforms.
