Just let it sit for a while; it often runs quietly in the background without refreshing the display. It did this to me recently before switching to Windows 10 on my laptop. If nothing shifts within a few hours, then something might be amiss.

I've been waiting roughly an hour, and a 25 Mbps connection should suffice. I've already restarted my computer.

Did it display a message about updates before turning off? That suggests it was loading and applying updates, which is definitely annoying.

I didn’t install any new updates after rebooting. I tried again just to check, and the number jumped from 4 to 139. Something definitely changed.
