I recently assembled a PC for the first time, inspired by some helpful videos from Linus and the community here. It was quite enjoyable, though I encountered several challenges. Most issues were resolved after troubleshooting steps like updating the wrong MMO BIOS, fixing the Windows 11 installation on a thumb drive instead of copying files, and getting fans to work properly. Still, it was frustrating at times.

The only puzzles remain with my games—Palworld, Destiny 2, and Civ VI all experience severe freezing or crashes, sometimes even when streaming or watching on another monitor. After some investigation, I suspect the problem might be related to RAM speed and its compatibility with AMD, though I'm not entirely sure about the terminology. I adjusted the BIOS to 6400Hz, but it didn’t fix the issue.

I’m not confident it’s hardware-related since I had the funds and was a bit reckless at first. I don’t think my actions during setup caused the problem. The temperatures aren’t high, and freezing seems to occur only during gameplay. Streaming or watching doesn’t seem to trigger it.

If you have any suggestions on where to start troubleshooting or what might be wrong, I’d appreciate it. Also, let me know if your I/O USB 3.2 connector works with the motherboard or if the board itself supports it. Thanks!

Back a while ago someone mentioned the Ryzen 7000 might have issues with RAM above 6000. Not sure if that’s still true now, but it’s worth testing until someone more experienced offers advice. There’s just one USB3 Type-A port and one Type-C port on your motherboard.

Thank you for your feedback! Yes, you should adjust the BIOS settings to 6,000hz instead of 6,400hz. Also, the second header appears to be a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, and it seems there are two USB ports that aren’t working properly—there’s only one spare cable available. Let me know if you need further help!

Check if an XMP/EXPO profile exists for 6000 in the dropdown menu. It seems Corsair doesn’t provide a manual for this scenario. Likely the additional port is a USB3 Gen 1 (Type-A). Only one header is available on your motherboard—typically two ports can be supported by a single header, with each connector supporting two ports. The extra connector would either:
1. Remain disconnected, leaving the two connected Type-A ports unusable, or
2. Require a USB 2 header adapter to convert it to USB3, allowing the Type-A ports to function as USB 2 or 3, but not as USB-C.
For Type-E to USB 3 adapters, Type-A ports will work with USB3, though Type-C connections won’t.

I recall seeing a 6,000 choice. I’ll handle it from both sides. Thanks again! I’ve checked Reddit too—I usually don’t get replies or I run into harsh remarks.

I’m not sure about this spot at all—only discovered it after seeing a video about response times. Outside of that, I’ve had a lot of fun. It really got me frustrated with my girlfriend for two weeks while she was getting ready, but I’m trying to embrace the mix of negativity and some good vibes. Still, it’s confusing me.

It's best not to adjust RAM speed yourself. Use XMP settings and keep them unchanged. Otherwise, memory timing won't be correct.

The speed of RAM being quicker isn't always the best, so also test standard default settings (without XMP configuration). You might also want to verify if your RAM is recognized by the motherboard's QVL.

I wasn't aware this was an issue—I believed I'd covered all the details. The supported speed is listed in the QVL, yet it lacks 96 GB of RAM. Should I opt for less RAM instead? Thank you for your response.
