Upgrade options include using the Media Creation Tool or 1709 ISO.
The version 1703 is essentially the creator update from late 2017. Did you mean the Fall 2017 creator update? Do you own a newer PC? These updates aren't always installed on every machine—some older devices in my home didn’t receive the initial creator update.
It's understandable you're concerned about the updates. Yes, it's possible that some older systems didn't receive the latest patches. Windows updates can vary in timing and compatibility, so certain devices might have missed out. If you're worried about older hardware, double-checking compatibility before installing is a good idea.
The updates proceed in waves, beginning with the latest version and moving backward, or through OEM checks, in manageable chunks. Delays may occur if manufacturers request postponement for driver fixes or if issues arise requiring patch adjustments. You can initiate an upgrade by clicking the "Update Now" button here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software.../windows10. However, proceed at your own risk. It is highly advised to ensure every driver is completely current, checking for any bugs in the newest release that might hinder the process. If you use software dependent on drivers—such as virtual machines or peripheral tools—make sure those are also fully updated. Some applications managing fans or other settings could interfere; it’s best to remove them, restart, and reinstall after upgrading. Avoid using registry cleaners unless necessary. If malware or viruses remain, a full reinstall is likely required. Never rely on a virus scanner or security tool alone; always verify system integrity before proceeding.
