The UnRAID server unexpectedly stops working.
Don't expect too many solutions. That attempt didn't resolve the problem, but it could indicate something more.
I intended to provide an update, but it didn’t work either. I plan to replace the RAM on Sunday at Best Buy and check if that resolves the issue. I’ll keep updating this thread in some way.
I’m curious about whether this will assist you. AsRock provided an option to return the motherboard, but I’m unsure if they’ll approve it since this is my second RMA attempt (the first was through Newegg due to bent pins).
If you're ready, I can switch off the Unraid USB/storage and use another drive to install Windows (no activation needed). Once that's done, you can run additional stability checks. You might also consider testing a Linux USB setup, though I’m not sure what stability tests are available for it. The only stability issue I experienced with Unraid was with one HBA I purchased. In short, the motherboard I used defaulted to a slightly overclocked bus around 102, which probably caused problems. Changing it to a bus at 100 works fine. I suspect this won’t be an issue for you if you’re not using an HBA, and modern motherboards tend to handle clocks better—usually staying at or below 100.
I believe the issue is serious. I was unsure about sending a replacement until the motherboard was checked. Would you say this suggests a motherboard problem or that the PSU might be faulty? I tried to recreate what you showed in the video. Turn off the PSU, then restart. The RGB lights started recording, the red LED lit up briefly, and the CPU cooler fan made a short sound. All other fans behaved similarly. No output on the screen or any beeps. Pressing the power button again didn’t trigger anything until I repeated step one. At first, I faced repeated disk failures because of the PSU. The system had functioned well before, using an old PC, but it struggled with the rising SATA power needs. After replacing the PSU with a second-hand Seasonic Focus, the issue disappeared. Recently, I’ve experienced crashes mainly in Docker containers. Instead of updating the image and restarting, the containers would stop until I rebooted the system. It seems fixing this involved moving bz* files onto the USB drive—a quick drag-and-drop resolved it. I suspect others have encountered similar challenges, though more complex fixes may exist. I’m hoping you identify the cause soon!
