I've been using MSI X99A Gaming 7 for years and recently switched to ASUS X570-E Gaming with the newest BIOS. The biggest change I've seen is the mouse performance in UEFI BIOS—it's much slower than on the older MSI board. Playing at higher resolutions now feels impossible because the mouse drags heavily, even when you're not moving it. It also overshoots targets and feels sluggish. Navigating BIOS feels like using an old interface again, making it frustrating to rely on the keyboard. Is this typical for ASUS BIOS in 2020?
I own an ASUS Z170-DELUXE and experience occasional cursor delays when using a very high mouse polling rate. Try a different, older or less advanced mouse with a lower polling rate to test. If the issue persists, consider updating your UEFI firmware to the newest version. If it still lags, switching to keyboard input might be the best option. Fortunately, you rarely need to adjust UEFI settings, so you can focus on using your system comfortably!
It's interesting how a device from around 2015 still performs well today. The BIOS is up-to-date, and the hardware has improved significantly over time.
