You just updated Ubuntu Server to a newer version, but when you boot it up, it shows up as Ubuntu 18.04 LTS instead of your original installation. The login prompt appears as "localhost.localdomain" with incorrect credentials, and even after reinstalling, the issue persists.

No, I haven't altered the locale or keyboard settings. My password contains no special characters.

Your username includes a dollar sign. Consider using a simpler name without special symbols. If it functions without them, notify the team about this issue. The installer will prevent you from entering any username that isn't recognized during login.

I only used normal characters, and it functioned, but after restarting it doesn't work anymore.
