The Type C port on your Asus Prime Z690-P D4 isn't connecting properly.
As the title says, my type c port isn't working. At all. I tried different cables, and plugged in different things and nothing. No power either. Won't charge my phone or anything. I've checked drivers, updated the bios to the latest version, and nothing. I don't really know what else to do. Has anyone else experienced this same issue? If there's any info you need let me know. Thank you all. Note: I maybe thought that my motherboard was defective, but my brother just got the same line of board (asus primeZ790 ddr5) and his type c port is the same as mine. So maybe I'm missing something? idk. thanks again. Edited January 16, 2024 by Antulio_78
No issues reported with the front, rear, or both USB C ports.
It has a single rear USB-C port and one front panel USB-C connector. I’m trying to figure out which one might be causing issues.
It hasn't functioned properly at all. I didn't use it fresh out of the box. It's only been recently that I tried charging my phone and plugged it in without any results. I've also tested other devices like a PS5 controller and an Oculus Quest 2. The board was brand new from Best Buy. Only minor changes were made to the BIOS—just enabling the Rescue Bar and XMP profile. I'm running the newest version of Windows 11.
Download the Armory Crate and make the necessary updates. It seems you're likely missing the chipset drivers. If that fails, reset the CMOS. Check Device Manager for a Thunderbolt Controller or any devices labeled as "Edit: No Thunderbolt Controller" on your board—just ignore this. I'm an idiot.
