Hello everyone,

I've begun broadcasting on Twitch using Streamlabs. Initially, I utilized an older computer featuring an i5 2500 (non-k), a GTX 750 Ti, and 8 GB of DDR3 memory, streaming Rocket League at 720p resolution at 30 frames per second with a bitrate of 2500 kbps. While the game would occasionally exhibit minor stutters, the stream remained relatively smooth. Later, I acquired a new FX 8350 through Amazon and decided to experiment with it. Despite the reduced input clock speed, this processor handles multitasking more effectively than my previous i5.

Consequently, I purchased the CPU paired with a Gigabyte motherboard (78LMT-USB3 R2) and 8 GB of DDR3 RAM. However, my current setup is yielding an unexpected outcome: gameplay appears flawless, yet Streamlabs struggles to maintain a consistent 30 fps stream – it sometimes even drops to 10 fps, rendering the broadcast unviewable. I've employed core temp and MSI Afterburner to assess my CPU and GPU performance, confirming that there’s no indication of throttling or overheating (CPU temperatures consistently hover around 50°C with a stock cooler), and the CPU usage averages approximately 50% while the GPU operates at 99% utilization throughout. I’ve attempted various adjustments, including elevating Streamlabs' process priority within the application settings. I am unsure of what further steps to take. Do you have any suggestions?

My understanding is that this may be linked to my system configurations, but I've observed a recurring issue with the streaming process (specifically when using RL). When the game loses its focus—whether through borderless windowing or a separate application taking over—the stream reverts to 30 frames per second. This isn't always triggered by interacting with the Streamlabs window; any application can cause it. However, bringing the game back into focus results in a significant drop in frame rate, even though the game continues to display its visuals within the streaming preview. I’m unsure of what is causing this behavior and would appreciate assistance from anyone who might have encountered a similar problem.

UPDATE - I’ve identified the root cause: disabling Game Mode within Windows settings resolved the issue entirely. It now appears to function as expected.
