The TP-Link AX1800 device is not functioning properly.
Hi everyone, I just purchased a TP-Link AX1800 and connected the internet cable. It seems to work fine, but the connection isn’t active. I’m quite upset, could someone assist me? Appreciate your help!
It's a router. The Ethernet cable is connected to your ISP modem or another device.
Like @Murasaki's advice, disconnect all devices including your AX1800 and the cable modem. Wait a minute, then power back up the modem first until it shows online. After that, connect the AX1800 and wait for it to function before trying the computer. This method works only with cable modems or modems using DHCP. If you have DSL or Fiber connections needing PPOE, enter your credentials on the AX1800. Most providers assign a single public IP address, so changing routers won't help since the new router won't receive one. Allowing a 1+ minute restart often helps obtain a fresh public IP on a new device.
You haven’t finished setting up the device. The system typically won’t link to the internet unit during configuration. You can either use the TP Link application or, as suggested, enter the router’s default IP address after connecting. For those devices, 192.168.0.1 is usually correct.
