I'm planning to switch to an i9 10900k or 11900k. After using the ARCTIC MX-4 for a while, it performs well but I'm curious about better thermal pastes for top-end CPUs. The MX-4 keeps my current i5 10400 cool—around 19°C under load and 39°C idle—with the H100i XT Pro RGB. Will this cooler work with those high-end chips?

I've been working on computer projects for a while now, so I really understand what I'm doing.

Arctic MX-6 is also considered a solid choice. See the forum thread here: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/show...rctic-MX-6

I'm talking about high-end builders who use liquid metals, which is a unique approach. It's similar to tinning for soldering, aiming for direct metal contact. Few can achieve this level of precision. It's puzzling why some systems failed due to liquid metal leaks, especially when they mention MX5 being discontinued. I'm not sure about MX4 production, but MX6 seems promising—it's reported to be about 20% better than MX5. With manufacturers, things can change quickly.

A little paste usually helps things go smoothly. Even though folks often chat a lot, I’m still getting solid results.

You can still cause problems with liquid metal, and the results are much more severe than messing with thermal paste.
