Hey there! For your setup with an RX 3090, you’ll want a CPU that pairs well with it for gaming and light editing. Look for a solid mid-range processor with good thermal performance. DDR4 is a great choice since you already have those sticks. Let me know if you need more details!

For preserving your memory, the only option is Intel. They currently offer boards compatible with DDR4. With today’s AMD 7000 processors, you’ll need to install DDR5 memory.

13700k is another strong choice. It's close to the 13900k in the gaming scene.

The gap between 13600k and 13900k is minimal in most games. You'll notice it becomes more noticeable in esports titles when you achieve high FPS, though the 13900k offers slightly better performance. Generally, a 10% difference isn't significant for CPUs over twice that price, and aging components like the 3090 won't make much of a difference.

I was joking around. 3090 at 1080p? That’s impossible, isn’t it?

It's a complex issue since the CPU can send commands to the GPU, but all processing can end up in one core or thread or specific memory. The connection between CPU and GPU depends heavily on games and software. There isn't a one-size-fits-all solution except choosing the best CPU.

The question seems to be about whether the 13990k amount is correct. It’s important to address it clearly before moving forward.

It's reasonable to think so. The upcoming 13900ks is already available in the market.

Consider a CPU that matches your 3090's capabilities while supporting 1440p gaming and light content creation, using DDR4 memory.
