It seems unlikely it covers everything. Could you check the CPU compatibility section on your motherboard’s documentation? Just noting that an AM2 socket doesn’t guarantee support for all AM2 chips.

It depends on whether your board supports the AM2+ BIOS upgrade, which would allow using an AM3 CPU at HT2.0 speeds—though the difference isn't huge. Phenom II X4 945s are affordable. The 956s can also work.

your phenom ii x4 920 runs AM2+ and works with AM3 CPUs too, but it really depends on your motherboard for the best fit. I’d consider a new board if I were you, though that’s just my opinion. Checking the OEM list at the provided link can help you find compatible options.
