On my desktop I have two dedicated NVIDIA GPUs together with the built-in one. They appear in Device Manager (refer to the attached image: GPUs.png). In Windows 11 you can set which GPU Windows should act as the high performance (HP) and which as power saving (LP). You can also assign specific programs to use a particular GPU instead of the default HP or LP one. This was possible in Windows 10 before the upgrade. A screenshot of these settings is included. Since my PC isn’t officially supported by Windows 11 (ASUS didn’t provide TPM support on their Haswell boards), I’m considering downgrading back to Windows 10. After installing there, these options disappeared. If I turn on the integrated GPU in UEFI, Windows treats it as LP and the weaker NVIDIA GPU as HP. Disabling it makes both GPUs work as HP and LP. To use my better GPU, I need all displays connected to it, forcing it to handle both roles—any display on the weaker one changes the behavior. I require this exact setup (enabled iGPU, two dedicated GPUs, displays on the weaker one) for another reason. Is there a way to restore these GPU choices? Also, the usual warning about Windows now controlling GPU selection isn’t visible in the NVIDIA Control Panel.
