Hello, I'm setting up my first PC using a test bench to verify everything functions. It shuts down quickly—about 3 to 4 seconds—as the fans spin. The motherboard, CPU, and GPU are all connected to the PSU. I’ve confirmed that connection. Since I don’t have a case yet, I’m powering it up to start testing.

Identify the components you need assistance with. PCPartPicker is recommended for guidance. Also, note whether the PSU requires flipping its switch multiple times before power cuts and if a photo of your setup could be useful.

You’re asking about the meaning of “power jumping it,” which usually refers to shorting the front panel power connectors on the motherboard. If the system powers off suddenly, it may indicate a short circuit or wiring issue. You mentioned you have a 24-pin connector and are concerned about the CPU EPS power supply as well. PCIe and SATA ports are likely the remaining connections. It would be helpful to see photos of your setup and list the components you’re using.

I’d take it head-on. The PCIe 8 pin is fairly straightforward to insert into the standard 8-pin EPS port.

It's important to note this setup isn't designed for that pin configuration. The challenge lies in the mismatch between the 8-pin PCIe and 8-pin EPS, which often requires a specific pin that doesn't fit naturally. This can feel like a simple oversight, much like how USB micro-B is only meant to be inserted one way—yet it's still possible to accidentally force it in reverse by mistake.

Resolved! I only adjusted the two power connectors using a screwdriver and removed it once the fan started. I continued doing this until it rebooted 1-2 times. It’s now functioning perfectly.
