I bought a laptop from a seller who also sells other electronics, with excellent feedback ratings. The problem is that the device didn’t come with a Windows disc, so he eventually sent me a preactivated.iso file. Is this not acceptable? I considered complaining but decided to ask first before making a mistake.

Yes, if it isn't an OEM ISO then it's acceptable.

It depends heavily on the ISO used. It could be incorrect or it might be valid. Check with him about the source.

It’s unlikely Microsoft will go bankrupt, though you can get a Windows copy for $10 in that Reddit thread. -Someone added the post link I missed

Ensure the software is already available; navigate to the System settings (where you verify CPU RAM and Windows version). If your laptop brand appears in the logo section, it’s probably genuine. Remember, a valid product key is still required.
