I recently replaced my old Kraken 240mm AIO due to rising temperatures (consistently around 85°C+) and pump failure. I switched to the Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 5 for air cooling and upgraded to a 1000W PSU. After setup and monitoring, temperatures are now about 62°C at startup. I’m confident the installation was correct, thermal paste applied properly, and I cleaned thoroughly beforehand. Dust shouldn’t be an issue. I also heard on another forum that my CPU’s idle wattage shouldn’t be so high. For reference: Ryzen 9 7900X with MSI RTX 3070 ROG B650, Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL motherboard, 9 case fans, 6 intake, 3 exhaust. HWMonitor data was taken immediately after startup. What might be causing this?

The Ryzen is running hot, which is typical at this temperature. How high do your temperatures get when the system is under stress? If it's above 90°C, you're probably okay—don't attempt repairs unless something is clearly wrong.

No, 60c is within the expected range. I’d attribute any issues to other factors like case flow, the Dark Cock, or the software you’re using.

Are the fans correctly placed? They shouldn’t be clashing or blocking airflow.

They're not using a PC monitor, they're employing an HW monitor.

Fans are correctly placed on both the cooler and the case. The numbers in my initial message were swapped—correct setup is 3 intakes, 6 exhausts. Specifically: 2 exhausts at the top, 3 at the bottom, and 1 intake in the back right by the cooler, with 3 intakes front.

We discussed RGB tools and related software. I'm using HWiNFO.

Three inlets and six outlets seem unusual; perhaps it wouldn’t work well. Placing the lower fans on the intake makes more sense, while the upper fans could fit better on the intake side.
