I anticipate around 84C after a full overclock, but I just noticed I mentioned 4GHz instead of 4.9GHz. I’m aiming for 5.1GHz or even 5.3GHz if it’s feasible, though I’m skeptical. I believe reaching close to that frequency is possible with these temperatures. I thought 100°C would be the limit and it would likely damage the chip. When I boosted my old i5 4670K to 4.5GHz with an air cooler, it stayed under 78°C during heavy use. As for the stable clock speed during full load—I’m not sure. I only checked temperatures; I can run tests again later but need guidance on checking actual speeds.

Nah 115c is a tough trip (CPU shuts down the board). It slows down first, then hits 115c and suddenly powers off. Hope the chip saves itself—this rarely happens. For 5ghz and above, a custom loop might be needed. I prefer keeping under 90c with my Intel chip, especially when overclocking. A custom water loop could work for serious enthusiasts. A full copper water block is important, plus better radiators and pumps that really make a difference compared to an AIO. You can use the app called Cpu-z; open it more than once to check all tabs at once. It also checks your overclocks, making it a reliable choice for precision.

I used the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360. I viewed the video you shared and noticed it was installed incorrectly. I tried to mount it sideways, but my enclosure is too compact—plus the biggest issue is the air intake. Three front vents are drawing in fresh air while the radiator behind them expels it, causing them to clash and likely affecting temperatures. I understand this isn’t the most efficient setup, but it’s the only way I can fit the cooler in. It seems I’ll need to purchase a new case. To illustrate exactly what I have, open the linked video and fast forward to 18:07—it shows my PC just like this (except the fan is on top of the case).

It was an I5 model with fewer cores, no overclocking, and lower TDP, plus some minor variations such as die/ihs thickness. The 10th generation runs hotter, which isn't unusual. You have 8 cores, hyperthreading, and much higher TDP. Since the 10th gen is another Skylake refresh, achieving good power efficiency becomes more challenging.

I'm assembling a new PC for a friend and we selected the 280 model because of the fan size. If you pick that size too, adding another fan might not be possible even with a 120x120 unit—it really depends on your case. The case looks okay. Proceed with caution! It’s best not to begin the build right now since component prices are fluctuating due to shortages in some areas (about half of the PSUs are hard to source, and RAM might be tight) and most importantly, there’s still work to do. With the upcoming Nvidia 3000 launch, Intel seems to be phasing out older motherboards—possibly targeting high-end cards like the 3090. You might face limitations if you rely on a board from 2020. Keep an eye on Intel’s new releases; they should support PCI-E Gen 4 if needed for heavy workloads. Unless you’re ready, stick with your CPU for now.
