Hello everyone, my setup includes an i7 10700KF and an Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360 AIO. By default the cooler runs at its maximum setting (1700 RPM), which keeps temperatures around 35-37°C when the PC is idle. During browsing or light tasks it drops to about 45°C. I’m concerned that these high idle temps might be too much, especially if I run heavy games or perform overclocking. Could you share what temperatures I should expect while using the cooler at its highest setting?
Under a 100c cap, performance remains strong. The latest Cinebench R20 results show peak temperatures well within expectations.
It also relies on the case airflow and cooler performance, but I think you're doing well. As the person before me mentioned... try running Cinebench R20 in a row of 3-4 at once. If you're around 80-85, in a good environment you won't be overloading all cores for more than a minute or two, so your temperature will keep fluctuating between 60-80, especially during gaming.
When the system is idle or under light load, the CPU generates very little heat in watts. Raising the fan speed is unlikely to make a difference. Heat movement from the IHS to the cool plate and the surrounding room temperature likely play a bigger role. Moving 20 watts of heat into an extremely large radiator would probably have minimal impact on idle temperature.
I'm currently updating Windows and will run Cinebench R20 as soon as possible, then share the report. It's 2 AM in my country, but I should be able to complete the test within a couple of hours. If not, I'll run it early tomorrow. My Airflow setup isn't ideal, but it's functional. I'll submit the Cinebench results then. Regarding overclocking, if temperatures are around these levels without active overclocking, you might see decent improvements.

Hey everyone, I ran the CPU with Cinebench R20 five times in a row and kept pressing 'run' repeatedly. The results stayed consistent every time. My hardware monitor showed a max temperature of 84°C. I’m concerned about overheating if I ever try to overclock it later. I was hoping for cooler temps, especially since water cooling helps. If I manage to push it to around 4 GHz and run some demanding games for a few hours, I worry it could fail. I also expect temperatures to climb well above 95°C. Any tips on reducing the heat?
84c is an excellent temperature setting. It's a high-performance chip with a 5GHz boost. You might think downclocking to 4GHz, but it won't slow down until it reaches 100°C. It's operating quite efficiently. The sustained speed under heavy use was around 4.7GHz.
