Hi!
Ive had my 4090 TUF since just after launch and ive noticed now that when playing control my GPU had temps that i think is too hot.
I then looked at some reviews of the TUF card and found one from Hardware Unboxed (
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCF2qLZl-c8
), where their temps are 67C and hotspot 77C.
This review and my temps are all on default mode of the card.
Ive looked around abit and seen that repasting can improve the temps, but first i want to make sure if it even is a good idea or if theres some other info that can help?

94C remains a viable option. How are your clock speeds performing?
Many evaluators usually conduct open bench tests, which might not reflect your outcomes precisely.
I likely would too. However, it depends on whether you're comfortable with the uncertainty when few GPUs are available.

You may adjust the paste but those temperatures are okay. Also modify the fan speed to 50 percent at 28c assists since Nvidia prioritizes silence over speed. You should notice roughly a 5c variation just from that change.

My clock speeds are 2730MHz, occasionally dropping to 2715MHz, but they remain very stable. I'm testing this without the sidepanel on and it feels like an open-air test setup, yet I notice a significant temperature difference at the hotspot. I'm curious about the temperatures at which performance starts to decline or become unsafe. People suggest it's acceptable as long as it stays below 105°C. Would running at around 102°C with a constant load for extended periods be harmful? Or is it generally fine?

The "HAMMERS" GPU's are performing exceptionally well. When I initially started playing and enabled RT just to check the hype, my 3080 was running at around 92°C. It's a first-generation RT game. My suggestion is to disable RT and let the temperatures stabilize.

105C is usually the standard temperature limit. I expect the card to begin throttling before that point. Most Nvidia cards start throttling around 83C plus 17C, which would be 100C in your case.
A cooler setup is preferable—not only for higher boost clocks but also for longer device life.
You can also lower power limits if you prefer to keep things cooler. Switching to newer paste and thermal pads could reduce the temperature by a few degrees.

Thermalright TF8./ Mx6 paste fonctionne correctement.
Nettoyez avec de l'alcool isopropylique à 99 % pour les pads ou utilisez une bouteille et des cotons-tiges pour nettoyer le die GPU.
Cas extrême : eau refroidissante
