Yesterday I assembled a new PC using a Ryzen 5 3600, but under heavy load in Cinabench R20 the temperatures reached 95°C. During CoD MW playtimes, temperatures stayed above 80°C. Is this typical or should I have made adjustments?

The temperature reading is far from typical. Verify the thermal paste application and ensure the cooler is installed correctly.

You recently installed the stock cooler and applied the thermal paste beforehand.

It seems like you're referring to a situation where a corner isn't secured properly. Could you clarify what you mean? I'm here to help!

No, you shouldn't simply replace the entire cooler. The thermal paste may not work correctly after removal.

Consider removing the cooler for a clearer view of the thermal paste application.

The stock cooler isn't doing well. I switched from a 3600 to a budget Gammaxx 400S, which dropped 20°C during gaming and Cinebench R15. Maybe reattaching the CPU cooler could help—just make sure it's installed correctly.

I'll give it a shot, it should take about an hour.

I believe 95°C is typical for that condition with the stock cooler. My budget aftermarket unit also reaches 95°C in p95, even with maximum PBO. I’d lower the thermal throttle point to 85°C for added confidence.
