I've started ordering the 7800x3d and have seen some YouTube videos discussing underclocking to maintain performance at higher temperatures. I'm planning to aircool my board using a Phantom Spirit EVO. The videos usually focus on stress testing with benchmarking software, but I'm hoping normal usage won't cause issues. What you're probably seeing are for under*volting*, not underclocking. While a fun thing to play around with for enthusiasts to min/max, its by no means required with that chip and that cooler. You can disregard entirely unless you're interested in playing around. Search terms on Youtube would be "7800x3D Curve Optimizer".
