Freakwise, are you wondering if Shadow Rock LP is a decent CPU cooler? Also, what’s the ideal CPU usage during games? Thanks for asking, but I’m really confused—I don’t even know what to do. I did see the fan running at full speed while gaming, which might be useful or not.

It's not always a bad cooler. It maintains CPU temps below 90°C during heavy use. Determining exact utilization depends on the specific games, but generally it should stay between 40-50% or less.

It's not an overly powerful cooler, but it does have a compact design. If you have room for a more robust model, it could be worth considering (though I wouldn't push it unless your temperatures are high). The goal is usually 100% CPU and GPU coverage, though that's uncommon. Performance varies by game—Doom Eternal should sit around 30-40% total CPU, while Civilization VI might need closer to 80-90% (figures may vary). A fully dedicated CPU fan often indicates insufficient cooling, possibly due to poor thermal paste application. Make sure your case filters aren't blocked, as that can also lead to elevated temperatures.

The PC case features a Cooler Master Masterbox MB511 RGB with six fans: three front intakes, two top exhausts, and one rear exhaust. This is my first encounter with a spike. Will using the existing cooler harm my CPU? The CPU is only a month old.

If it reaches 81, everything is okay. Going past 90°C signals an issue. You could be missing out on performance at higher temps, but it's not a major concern. The stock cooler maintains these temperatures, so the CPU stays within safe limits for its expected life. This setup looks solid—airflow through the case isn't too restricted.

It seems you're questioning whether the CPU cooler is having trouble despite the case and cooling setup. You might want to consider checking if a replacement is necessary. For recommendations, here are some reputable options you could explore.

Thanks, that should definitely assist you now... I understand the post might give the impression of paranoia, but I’m just reaching out because I’m worried about my CPU.

I only consider upgrading if it becomes necessary. For added performance and confidence in cooling, the Hyper 212 offers solid value. To achieve top-tier results, follow @Dedayog’s advice and opt for an AIO or a larger Noctua model. The most powerful option you’ll likely need is a Noctua NH-U12S, though it may still be excessive for your CPU.
