Very likely. It's a motherboard made before FX existed, and while made compatible with it through BIOS updates, I doubt it was ever ready for the 8-core models under full load. You can improve the CPU cooling, but you will still "power throttle" - throttling to prevent drawing more power than he VRM can handle. Even when no overcurrent protection, the VRM would overheat and fail. You may not face that in everyday or light usage, depending on what you use it for, but it won't pass a stress test. It could be a faulty sensor, or maybe not reporting in celsius. 100 is still like 30C above your CPU's max temp, so it shouldn't stop throttling there. Hence, your computer doesn't "believe" it's 100, for throttling control it's using something else. Just to double check: are you looking at "package" temps?
