The issue you're facing with The Crew running at high CPU usage is common and can be resolved by adjusting system settings or optimizing game performance. Consider lowering graphics settings, closing background applications, or updating your graphics drivers. If the problem persists, checking for background processes or using a different game might help.

Not sure, I've noticed the crew sometimes goes all in for a moment when you start the game, but you don't see anyone having trouble while playing. Ubi hasn't resolved this yet...

How many companions are connected on UPlay? It seems the application attempts to retrieve your contacts even when they're unavailable, leading to significant CPU consumption in this continuous process. (GG Ubi)

Ubisoft is here for you! Use the task manager to lower the game’s priority, which will free up more space.

I believe there might be around two of you, and all your friends are on Steam.

I'll give it a shot; it looks like the engine is aiming for maximum output.

I recently tested it, adjusted the settings in Task Manager from normal to low, but only reduced usage by about 10% at most. It still spikes up to 100%, and performance hasn’t improved.

Ubisoft is extremely cautious about piracy. They aim to ensure the PC release matches or falls short of the console versions. Likely the issue lies with the game itself. Edited April 8, 2015 by Stijncat

They should regularly verify Uplay/Steam links instead of forcing the system to operate beyond its suggested limits.

It seems Ubisoft might not appreciate pushing hardware beyond its normal limits. Consider testing with standard GPU and CPU settings, plus just one setting at a time for the game. If results remain unchanged, you might want to stop exploring further. Let me know your outcome.
