so i have a problem with my computer it wont wake from sleep mode, and wont shut down through the os(pressing shut down). the fans continue to spin and wont start. previously this computer used those same functions perfectly fine.

Press and maintain the power button until the system shuts down. This should happen consecutively. If it continues, refer to the Troubleshooting section—it may indicate a driver problem with sleep/wake features.

Consider disabling FastBoot, as it often fixes similar issues. @GoodBytes suggests a hard reset might also work, since it restarts Windows from a full boot.
