Set up a new computer for your friend and try using the Windows 7 installation media again. Check the Ethernet cable connection and ensure the wireless PCI adapter is properly seated. If issues persist, consider reinstalling the drivers or consulting the manufacturer’s support resources.

Use a different computer to download the latest drivers, plug the USB in and install them on the new machine. This should resolve the issue.
