It bothers me when my computer won’t start after pressing the power button. It shows up briefly but no screen appears. The problem began after replacing the battery—using an OEM part instead of the original—and I discovered a workaround. HP’s support site has guides and a knowledge base for fixing this. Still, every time I try to turn it on, it fails. I’ve stopped using the secondary display and only see the main screen, which doesn’t recognize Windows. The GPU drivers were working before the battery change, but after, I got CMOS errors and then had to reinstall Windows. I did a fresh install, but that didn’t help. I disabled the drivers and got the correct ones from NVIDIA, which is why I’m on Ver 528.02 now. Still, it doesn’t work, so I tried HP’s driver download but it rejected me because Ver 398.36 isn’t compatible with my Windows version. I considered restoring the BIOS, but that didn’t succeed either. The program won’t launch at all. Drivers keep failing and the video file is stuck.
The links appear normal at first glance and are well fastened. The unusual part is that despite several attempts to turn it on, it actually works properly—suggesting the problem might not be with the hardware.
If issues began after swapping a battery, I’d reopen the unit and thoroughly inspect each connector. Also, attempt to refresh the BIOS directly through the BIOS settings, assuming Omen includes premium support features for those devices.
HP offers a "support assistant" that’s quite detailed for a driver tool, though it might feel too extensive for basic needs. It can help with tasks like battery calibration and BIOS updates, plus handle some unusual drivers. Check the link for more info: https://support.hp.com/lamerica_nsc_cari...b-275755-1. If you prefer something lighter, HP Image Assistant is another option—though it doesn’t explicitly mention OME support, but could be useful if available.
it should have instructions.. but i guess that broke *again*. there's some c:\hpsa sort of folder, in there is the kb*** for the bios update, in there is a hpbiosupdrec.exe file or something of that nature if i recall correctly.
