If you're unsure about checking the page file, it's okay—Windows handles it automatically. I highlighted this to warn about potential problems, such as running out of RAM.
Did you use any background applications on either device? Such as monitoring tools or RGB software. Also, are there any external audio devices connected?
The only shared setup between the machines was Discord and the Steam client, that’s all. I disabled RGB on the BIOS of this PC and installed MSI RGB Software on the laptop. Right now my PC is connected to: internal components – CPU, GPU, RAM, SSD, PSU, CPU cooler (dual tower), no separate sound card; external devices – wireless keyboard, wireless mouse, wired earphones via USB-C.
These external gadgets were never connected to the laptop. It’s trying to eliminate every possible factor—it seems like a hardware problem, as others have noted. It would be wise to rule out other causes before proceeding with a return or replacement. I encountered an issue with an older device where the USB port was frayed; even minor shocks caused it to disconnect repeatedly, often shutting down before any warning appeared.
The keyboard and mouse are brand new, so I haven’t tried them with the laptop USB-C earphone. It hasn’t been used on the laptop either since it only had a 3.5mm jack and no USB-C port. I believe the earphones work well—they keep sound steady until the PC restarts or the screen goes dark, at which point a brief static noise appears. I agree with your method, though, because I’d like to check all components first before jumping to conclusions about the GPU. It’s hard to dismiss hardware issues when two different machines share the same power source and only a few shared elements. I suspect there might be another factor at play. The main thing in common between both setups is me and the mains power supply. I also have a separate extension box for my tower and monitor, which shares power with another box that handles my phone and accessories. Essentially, two boxes are drawing power from one outlet using a splitter.
I recently used my PC for several hours in a row yesterday, and everything worked perfectly without needing a restart. I’m not sure why this happened—could be the calm before a big change or maybe it resolved on its own. I’ll keep you posted if anything changes.
