The system required assistance in resolving issues
Please be aware of my current machine details:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E4600 2.40GHz/2M/800
RAM: 2*2 GB (4GB) DDR3
Hard Drive: 320 GB Samsung
Chipset: Intel Q45/Q43 Express Chipset
Windows: Windows 7 Professional 32-bit SP1
Last time I booted up, nothing appeared and the system emitted a short beep four times with both fans running at full speed. After forcing shutdown with a long press of the power button, it eventually stopped working again. This happened multiple times today.
I checked online before posting, thinking it might be a RAM issue, but tested both my RAMs with a friend’s computer and found them to be fine. I also ran a system check using a different RAM setup, which showed everything was normal. My processor’s heatsink was cleaned, and the HDD health report was clear.
Despite this, fans still ran at full speed one time and then triggered the same beeping behavior. I’ve tried reinstalling the BIOS (latest version) from the official site, but it didn’t resolve the problem.
I’m a student and need to finish my assignments soon. Please help me quickly.
I think four beeps mean the motherboard is bad. Refer to the article at https://www.pcmag.com/encyclopedia/term/beep-codes
Yup! The timer issue suggests a motherboard failure, though changing the CMOS battery didn't fix it. The system worked fine once with one problem (fans running at full speed), but on the second time it started beeping. After sleeping, when it ran well, it didn't start up and instead played a beep pattern four times. I'm still confused about what's happening.
