Hi everyone, I'm a fairly seasoned PC builder and recently faced some challenges with my latest setup.
The components include:
TUF 4090
7800x3D
Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX V2
DDR5 gskill 6000Mhz ram
Corsair Hx1000i
A few samsung m.2s drives

Background: My PC had been experiencing problems before. I was using NVIDIA drivers 536.41, but after a series of crashes without clear reasons, I upgraded to the latest studio driver 551.23. Despite that, it still crashed. Today, I hadn’t booted the system because I was preparing my old machine for sale. After selling it, at around 7:30 PM, I tried to start it again and encountered the same issue.

Symptoms:
When I power on the PSU, the 4090 power LED lights up normally. When I activate the case power button, the motherboard LEDs illuminate in this sequence:
1) CPU LED (about 0.5 seconds)
2) DRAM LED (3-5 seconds)
3) VGA LED (stays on until shutdown)

What I've attempted:
- Disconnected the PSU cable and retried after 5 minutes → no improvement
- Let the system run for 15 minutes → still no fix
- Reinserted the GPU → no change

My guess is the problem lies with the RAM, possibly due to recent motherboard or CPU issues with DDR5 memory. If anyone has insights, please share. Thanks.

EDIT:
Ugh, I’m clearly not strong enough. I reinserted the GPU, removed and reconnected the 12-pin power connector, and it worked perfectly now. I suspect I might have shifted the PC stand earlier, causing the power cable to loosen. I’m unsure how to proceed with threads, so this post will remain here in embarrassment. Thanks.

Damn. I guess I'm just weak. I re-seated the GPU, removed the old power connector, and plugged in the new 12-pin one. Now it works fine. I think I might have shifted the PC's table, which could have caused the cable to loosen. I don't know how to delete threads, so this post will just stay here in shame. Thanks.

No shame at all, stuff happens. In the future there will be someone that come here finds your post and sparks them to make sure cord is in all the way. Glad your up and running.
