Hi, I see you're having trouble connecting your Dell GX260 to the internet. It sounds like the reinstalled Windows might not be working properly. Have you checked the network settings or tried a different USB port? Also, ensure the Wi-Fi is enabled and the router is functioning correctly. Let me know if you need further help!

It's concerning to think about running an outdated operating system online, as it poses serious security risks.

Your network won't establish a connection due to password protection.

It's strongly suggested to switch to Linux for these reasons. Even after installation, you'd still need specialized web browsers since regular ones don't support XP.

Avoid placing Windows XP online at all costs. As mentioned before, switch to a Linux distribution with a long support life (Ubuntu could work well) and consider installing browsers like Firefox or Chrome. Upgrading to Windows 10 is also a viable option. Never run anything older than Windows 10 on the internet, particularly not XP.

Windows XP isn't recommended for use on the internet these days unless you're experienced, and even then it's not ideal. A more suitable option would be a lightweight Linux distribution. This machine is quite outdated, so any operating system will likely result in slow performance. The system running is a Dell OptiPlex GX260, a Pentium 4 from about 20 years ago. It won't support Windows 10, and current Ubuntu versions also won't work well.

What attempts have you made thus far? Do you possess the correct password? Have you set up the drivers for USB cards? XP seems safer than 10 since it’s quite outdated and no one is focusing on it.

It becomes clear when you tackle it with a strong approach. Wow, that’s quite dated. Still, there’s likely a Linux version that works and gets regular updates.

The issue lies with the browser, not the operating system itself. Many XP systems remain active, especially in healthcare settings. I won’t go into Linux or shell concerns—XP probably can’t handle the dongle.
