Hello, I bought a used Alienware M15x recently. Before moving in, my friend kept the hard drive because it held pictures of her kids. I installed Windows 10 and noticed it wasn’t recognizing the drive as a valid installation device. In BIOS, the system shows 2000GB or 2TB. It’s unclear what’s causing the issue. Anyone have any advice?

This happens because you're attempting to install Windows in UEFI mode, but the system can't find compatible drivers. Try using Rufus to create a USB image with an MBR partition instead of a GPT file, as GPT is required for UEFI.
