I own an i3 5th generation with 4GB RAM and a 5500 graphics card. I barely manage to run any games, but Minecraft is the one that lasts the longest with higher FPS. Recently, I noticed many YouTubers and friends switching to a Minecraft client—this version acts as an optional launcher with mods that improve the game's appearance. When I open it, it consumes over 3GB of RAM and eventually stops responding, leaving my system at around 97% usage. The client also has a setting that caps memory usage, which I adjusted to 1.5 GB, but it still exceeded the limit and crashed at the end of the day. This issue persists even in newer Minecraft versions. Although I reduced the RAM limit to 2 GB, it still uses more than what's allocated, causing crashes. Anyone have any suggestions or insights? That would really help me.
The client will use the required memory for smooth operation. Restricting RAM usage won’t help. Real-time games can’t run smoothly on limited resources. TL;DR: Increase RAM or upgrade hardware.
which player are you employing? lunar usually requires around 3gb of memory, even when reduced, so consider disabling unlimited fps. If that doesn't help, you may need to switch to a different tool like optifine, or install mods manually via forge/fabric.
