Hello gentlemen,
I possess Assassin’s Creed III version 1.02 for PC and recently chose to reinstall it with the latest updates. However, I encountered a “unable to obtain version number! installation will be terminated” error and discovered a resolution from @thekingofclubs at that link. Nonetheless, following this process, I began experiencing a “this update is incompatible with the presently installed game” message. I attempted to modify the version within the registry using various versions (1.01, 1.02, etc.), but to no avail. What steps should I take to resolve this issue?
