I own a Kraken Z73 water radiator paired with my Ryzen 5950x processor. When idle and no software is running, the standard CPU temperature reads 38°C. With NZXT installed, the temperature rises by about 10°C. Using the CORE TEMP utility, which tracks the actual CPU temps, it shows the same readings. After rebooting, the idle temperature returns to 38°C even when using CORE TEMP. This suggests the software isn't affecting the cooling performance much. Everything seems properly cooled thanks to the Lian Li case and nine Noctua fans providing good airflow from bottom to top.
Is the cooler showing 38°C or another value? When you start the camera, does it display 48°C? On the cooler’s screen, does it show 48°C or 38°C? Or do both indicate 38°C and 48°C? You haven’t given enough details for a clear answer. There are several temperature sensors being monitored, and different programs read them differently. Loading an app can temporarily change the reading to around 40°C, so if it stays at 48°C, it might be using another sensor. Still, more information would help clarify what you’re seeing.

Loading differs from installing; loading triggers a load, which affects temperature. The 5950x chip is packed tightly, so even in idle it can feel hot due to concentrated heat. When multiple apps run and their temperatures vary, one often reflects package data while another shows core readings—both are valid, but core temp is what most people think of. Temperatures like 38/48/58°C are usually normal at low load. Staying under 85-90°C during heavy use is safe. Otherwise it may throttle or shut down. Generally, idle temps are okay if they’re not too high. High idle temps can stem from GPU handling a lot of power, not necessarily CPU issues.
