I assembled a fresh PC and moved the M.2 SSD from your previous system into the new one. In the BIOS you see the SSD listed, but you can't start up. You don’t want to reinstall Windows because you have valuable files there and need assistance with this problem.

The two systems have the following specifications. Assuming uncertainty, your old Windows setup is likely outdated, and the new motherboard probably uses secure boot and UEFI by default. Consider adjusting those options. Are there any additional drives besides the single M.2 SSD?

I just switched from an MSI H270 board to an ASUS B660M. The ASUS version was configured in UEFI mode and the legacy setting resolved the issue. Thanks.
