Hey, I've been experiencing a series of odd issues with my PC recently. The setup looks like this: CPU 3700X, GPU 3070, RAM 4x8GB, motherboard MSI B450 gaming plus with M.2 drives—specifically an ADATA Swordfish M.2 and two SATA SSDs, plus a couple of HDDs. I recently swapped in a new M.2 drive for Windows 11, but things didn’t go smoothly at first. Apps would load slowly and the system took 5 to 10 minutes to boot. In Task Manager, the M.2 SSD was showing full usage. I tried some online tips, but nothing worked. Eventually, I removed all drives except the M.2 one. The BIOS didn’t recognize either drive as a bootable option—though it did detect the M.2, which was confusing. Later, when installing Windows, the installer detected other boot managers from different drives and added them to the list. So it installed Ubuntu on the USB stick and moved my data there. I kept only the M.2 drive connected afterward and installed Windows from scratch. Then I gradually connected the other drives one by one. Boot times varied—sometimes slow, sometimes fine—but eventually everything worked. I added some game downloads and left the PC running overnight. This morning, I found out that the BIOS wasn’t seeing either of my drives: the M.2 or the old HDD. All drives were disconnected, but after reconnecting the oldest HDD, the BIOS still didn’t recognize it. Performance remained poor, 100% usage on M.2, and overall speed was lacking. I’ve tried another HDD too, but the same problem persisted. Eventually, I removed the HDD entirely. Now the BIOS only sees the M.2 drive, which is showing full usage, but still causes slow booting. I’m considering upgrading my motherboard to B660/z690 and moving the CPU to 12600K. If the M.2 drive continues to act up, I might have to return it for warranty.

I shared a comparable experience with my 5900X and MSI B550 Gaming Edge configuration, where the motherboard failed to recognize the M.2 drive on a few occasions, leading to an unexpected system crash. I plan to keep this thread in mind as well. I’m hoping someone can provide insight.
