the system fails on the GPU just before you pass away in the game
I’ve seen this problem a few times now, and it’s getting more common. My computer works just fine most of the time, but occasionally when I close out of a game, the screen turns black and it doesn’t react to any input. Sometimes I can hear the game for a short moment before the audio loops endlessly—like a voice will speak for a few seconds, then repeat the same line over and over. I’m stuck trying to figure it out except by restarting, which still leaves the screen dark and unresponsive. I’ve also reinstalled the graphics drivers and even the operating system, but the issue persists. It happened recently on July 31, 2023, by Skitarii.
It seems the cable might be faulty—check the monitor first, then the GPU, and only after that should you replace anything else.
It began with Warthunder and now spans Squad, COD MW 2022, SCP SL, Darktide, and Enlisted. The setup is always active no matter what I do—movies, rendering in Blender, chitubox slicing, Stable Diffusion, or other titles. It’s not the games themselves, except for a couple from different studios. The issue keeps getting worse, so I’m unsure what’s causing it.
It seems like there might be some confusion. Are you referring to a signal loss, a crash, or a lockup? Let me know how I can help clarify!
